MEND's Hope Building Plans

These drawings for Hope Centre in Nepal may be suitable for you to use to make your own rehabilitation centre?

This design works well ..and is based on 9 rooms formed by 16 upright pillars and horizontal beams linking them so it is earthquake-proof....we believe!. The airflow through the building is good and even the bathroom has a vent/chimney that allows all humidity to be exported, and also let in light directly over the wash basin.

As a medical centre the rooms may be allocated with X-ray room at the back, half of which can be used for film developing. Also, the kitchen may be allocated as the blood / fluid testing  laboratory, and one room as a workshop for repairs of limbs and mobility aids etc.

Costing about $20,000 US to build in 2009 in Nepal it is a low cost but solid building.
